Stefan Preuss is an architect and the state's leading advocate for sustainability in the built environment with more than 25 years of Australian and European experience. His skill has been recognised with the following appointments:

  • National Steering Committee member, National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS)
  • Executive Committee member, International Energy Agency, Building and Communities Program.

Stefan chairs the Victorian Design Review Panel alongside Jill Garner, Government Architect. He leads engagement in significant Office of the Victorian Government Architect (OVGA) programs. These include:

  • Public Housing Renewal
  • Marvel Stadium Redevelopment
  • Future Homes with DELWP

Known as a passionate speaker on topics of design, sustainability and health and well-being in the built environment, Stefan is a regular presenter at industry events and conferences. He is a board member with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV) and participates in evaluation panels for significant sustainability design awards.

Stefan's qualifications include:

  • Diplom Ingenieur Architektur (Masters in Architecture, Design), University of Kassel, Germany
  • Master of Science, Environmental Design of Buildings, University of Wales, Cardiff
  • Graduate, Australian Institute of Company Directors
