Matt Borg is a versatile and detail focused architect, practised in project processes that deliver effective outcomes. His role for the Office of the Government Architect is underpinned by over 25 years of hands-on involvement on private and public sector projects across practice and government. His advisory and advocacy work focuses on:

  • medium and high-density housing
  • housing masterplans
  • cultural and civic projects.

Matt advocates for and takes part in thorough project processes to support better design outcomes. His interrogation and review of work in progress is detailed and technical helping guide and influence government delivery agencies and industry design professionals on important state projects including:

  • Federation Square Review of public purpose and built form
  • Future Homes competition for exemplar medium-density homes
  • Future Homes demonstration project
  • Ground Lease Model masterplans and housing for Homes Victoria
  • Creative Spaces Design Guide input for Creative Victoria and City of Melbourne.

Matt’s qualifications include Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) (University of Melbourne).

Matt is passionate about design that addresses social issues such as inclusivity, equality and diversity – spaces and places that consider and value our community.
